Description
GX-POLYMER® is a synthetic polyacrylamide copolymer designed for high-temperature environments.
It is normally used in conditions and at temperatures when conventional polymers like xanthan gum, starch and cellulose derivatives lose their efficiency.
Apart from drilling fluids, it is used in completion, workover and EOR applications to viscosify brines and acids.
GX-POLYMER® can also be used as a friction reduction agent in coil-tubing operations.
Applications/Functions
· Drilling fluids HTHP fluid loss control agent and viscosifier (up to 400F / 204C)
· Brines viscosifier (NaCl, KCl, CaCl2, MgCl2, bromides, formates)
· Acids viscosifier
· Coil-tubing friction reducer
Advantages
· High stability in adverse downhole environment
· Non-fermenting
· Can be removed from the reservoir with the conventional breaker oxidizers (ammonium persulfate, etc.)
Recommended treatment
1,8-7 ppb (5-20 kg/m3) depending on the mud / brine formulation and desired fluid loss and rheology.
Typical properties
Appearance - White to yellow free flowing powder
