DEFLONATE®CF additive is designed to deflocculate drill solids and provide fluid-loss control.
DescriptionDEFLONATE®CF is an environmentally compatible chrome free iron lignosulfonate.
DEFLONATE®CF additive is designed to be used in virtually all water-base drilling fluids to deflocculate drill solids and provide fluid-loss control. It is effective at temperatures greater than 300°F (149°C). Its performance is not affected by contaminants. It overcomes cement contamination and reacts with calcium to lessen the contaminating effects on the drilling fluid.
Applications/Functions
• Very effective WBM thinner
• Improves filtration control
• Improves filter cake quality
Advantages
• Chrome-free
• Extends temperature stability of water-based muds
• Stabilizes rheological properties
Recommended treatment
The effectiveness of the DEFLONATE®CF treated drilling fluid systems is reduced in very high salinity fluids. In such situations, pre-solubilize the DEFLONATE®CF additive in fresh water treated with caustic soda before adding it to the drilling fluid. Typical treatment levels are from 1.0 to 6.0 lb/bbl (2.9 to 17.1 kg/m3 ). Initial treatments may be as low as 0.25 lb/bbl (0.7 kg/m3 ) depending on the mud weight, bentonite and drill solids content of the fluid
Typical properties
Appearance - Yellow to brown powder
Handling
Please refer to the MSDS for specific instructions
Packaging
DEFLONATE®CF is packaged in 50lbs (22.68 kg) or 55lbs (25 kg) bags.
